The Freedom Found in Forgiveness

Forgiveness is one of those things that we think we understand—until we experience it in its truest form.

For a long time, I didn’t believe I was holding on to anything. I had moved on. I had healed. Or so I thought. But healing is an ongoing journey, and sometimes we don’t realize the weight we’ve been carrying until we finally put it down.

It wasn’t until I performed a Forgiveness & Release Ritual that I felt something shift within me. I hadn’t gone into it expecting some grand transformation—I was simply honoring my spirit, doing the work I knew was necessary for my growth. But as I spoke words of release, as I acknowledged what needed to be let go, I felt an unexpected lightness. A burden I hadn’t even realized I was carrying lifted.

That’s the thing about pain—it doesn’t always feel like pain. Sometimes, it settles into the background, becoming part of the landscape of our energy. It’s not always raw or obvious. Sometimes, it disguises itself as indifference, as strength, as “moving on.” But when true forgiveness comes, when we finally free ourselves, the contrast is undeniable.

Forgiveness is not about excusing what happened. It’s not about pretending the hurt wasn’t real. It’s about breaking the unseen chains, the ones we didn’t even know were keeping us tethered. It’s about reclaiming our energy so that we can move forward unburdened, open to the expansion that awaits.

I didn’t think I was holding on—until I felt what it was like to be free. And now, I can’t unsee the power of that liberation.

So if you’re reading this and thinking, I’m fine. I’ve let it go, I invite you to sit with yourself. To ask, What if there’s more? What if I could be even lighter? And if there’s even the smallest whisper of resistance, know that forgiveness isn’t just a gift—it’s a gateway. One that leads to more peace, more clarity, and more freedom than you ever knew was possible.

Because sometimes, we don’t know we’re carrying something—until we feel the beauty of letting it go.

A Gentle Invitation to Release

If this resonates with you, I encourage you to take a moment for yourself. Find a quiet space. Close your eyes. Place your hands over your heart and take a deep breath. Ask yourself:

Is there anything lingering in my heart that is ready to be released?

If something comes up, honor it. You may wish to write it down, speak words of release aloud, or even light a candle as a symbolic act of letting go.

And if you feel called, create your own Forgiveness & Release Ritual. Let your soul guide you in the way that feels most aligned. Whether it’s through prayer, journaling, or a simple moment of reflection, trust that the act of acknowledgment itself begins the process of setting you free.

Because you deserve peace. You deserve freedom. And most of all, you deserve to move forward unburdened, stepping fully into the light that is waiting for you.
